What is CIRBN?

Central Illinois Regional Broadband Network (CIRBN) offers high-speed Internet connectivity to Central Illinois. CIRBN was designed to serve rural communities as well as K-12 school districts, healthcare, public safety, government, not-for-profit, and commercial institutions.

Why is CIRBN good for me?

CIRBN replaces outdated technology with state-of-the-art fiber optics to improve quality, reliability, usability, and access for its participants.

Will CIRBN be offered to residential customers?

CIRBN does not plan to offer service directly to residential customers. However existing service providers may take advantage of the CIRBN network to offer service to residential customers.

How fast will my connection speed be with CIRBN?

Your connection speed will depend upon where you’re located. If you’re in Atlanta, Bloomington/Normal, Chenoa, Downs, El Paso, Eureka, Farmer City, Gridley, LeRoy, Lexington, Mansfield, Pontiac, or Towanda, your speed can be up to 1Gb/s (1,000 Mb/s). If you’re in Arrowsmith, Colfax, Danvers, Fairbury, Heyworth, Hudson, or Olympia, your service can be up to 300-500 Mb/s.

Can I get TV and phone service through CIRBN?

Your connection speed will depend upon where you’re located. I contacted the support desk, what happens next?

Whether you chose to call, or email, you will receive an email confirmation regarding the creation of the trouble ticket and the ticket number. You can use this ticket number when communicating with CIRBN staff. Note that organizations requiring immediate attention should call the CIRBN Operations Center directly. Any tickets submitted online or through email will not be considered high priority.
